The summer location: Soriano nel Cimino

The cloister of Sant’Agostino, seat of the town hall, the Orsini Castle, the medieval Paracqua Tavern and several hotel halls and meeting rooms are the venues of the summer master classes of the Tuscia in Jazz Festival.
In the last week in July, musicians from as many as 18 different nationalities meet in the hilltop town of Soriano nel Cimino, just 80 km NW of Rome, and closet o Lake Bolsena, to study with the greats of the international jazz scene.
For over one week, this town transforms itself in a small New Orleans, where music can be heard at all corners and musicians can be seen everywhere walking with their instruments.
The concerts that are held free of charge in the Piazzas and in the restaurants represent the corollary of the Jimmy Woode award, one of the most awaited-for events.
In the week before last of july, Soriano hosts the final phase of the Jimmy Woode Award, which is devoted to young musicians under 30. The winners perform with the great names of the international jazz scene and are then recorded on CD.

Enrolment fee include participation in instrument and combo classes and conferences, use of class materials, free attendance to concerts held in the same days in the Soriano In Jazz Festival, and participation in the jam sessions at night.
